Can't say enough good things about the food and the folks at Dianne's. It seemed a bit pricey, but delicious.

Woodenhead's a great bet in Kingston, too. We went there twice in three days. The Calamari Mumbai is amazing... very tender squid in an East Indian-influenced tomato sauce. Quite spicy with fresh wood-fired oven-baked naan.

There's a supposedly traditional Scottish place, Sir John's Public House, up a block or so from the waterfront. Don't bother. Advertised "best haggis" in down. Didn't even have any, and what they did have wasn't authentic, much less well-prepared. Too bad...

Right now, I'd say Dianne's and Woodenhead are the two "gotta-hit-it" places. Chez Piggy's is great for fine dining; great food, interesting, beautiful setting, and you pay for it. Ate at Grecos and liked it. Tried to Amadeus (German place up Princess St. a few blocks), but it was closed; it had great reviews.

Love the hang, the beers, the scotch selection, and the folks at KBC (Kingston Brewing Company). Great place to have a few and chat with friendly folks.

Too bad our paths didn't cross.. would have loved to have bought you pint or two!
