Some people want to spread knowledge. Some people want to use the forum as an index for information. Some people want to ask questions or discuss new ideas. Some people want to buy and sell car parts. Some people want to post news, or read news about the platform. Some people want to talk about random shit with their 86 buddies. These are all different reasons for coming to the forum. There are more.

The only reasons currently supported and encouraged by the forum structure are buying/selling items (poorly executed), posting/reading news (yet no news section), and posting guides/seeking information.

If you want to ask questions or discuss ideas, prepare to have your thread derailed by the elitist circle. There is no other outcome, sadly.

If you want to spread knowledge, post a guide! But who knows if it will ever get any attention, or if it's even a good guide by community standards in the first place?

If you want to talk random crap with 86 buddies? There is an off-topic forum but it has no structure whatsoever. And you cannot discuss religion or politics which are two of the most popular off-topic discussion topics?

If you want to buy and sell car parts? Too bad because the forum doesn't sustain enough activity to do so. Also please follow all of the crappy sale post rules because we still use threads in a forum to buy and sell items. How hard is it to create another page separate from the forum and have a link to it where the current sale stuff is now? How about having ads for vendors so they actually have a reason to give this site their attention, given that it has a declining user base?

By the way, are any of the community guides even double-checked by someone who knows what they are doing? Or could someone post a guide with a misstep that essentially tells people to break their car? (worst case scenario)

Idk man, I'm done derailing this guy's thread though. Good luck with Supra tail lights!
No moderation? Seems they were right on point: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...=111895&page=2

If you come here just looking for things that support what you already think and don't want to hear anything else then you will indeed be disappointed.

Please show me some hard numbers to support your claims of a declining user base.
