There are two other factors I think may cause this "more kick" sensation. The oil I replaced was 13 months old, but I don't think that's really a reason. The more probable cause is I've been driving the Yaris with 106 raging ponies. LOL. But then again, that doesn't explain why I didn't really feel a difference with 93 compared to 91, but I do with 101????

I also expected 101 to smell more than 93 or 91 (I let the car idle in the garage for a few minutes after changing the oil before driving it around the block), but that wasn't the case. I didn't really smell any exhaust fumes, and I was right behind the car coiling up an extension cable (put the charger on the battery).

With 93 or 91, there is definitely some type of exhaust odor if I let it idle for a few minutes in the garage, like the car is running slightly rich.
