Hence get a good oil. There are 5W30 that will shear down to 20 weights pretty quick. Go to Bob is the oil guy and pick a good 0W20 or 5W30.

I use a thicker oil in my WRX but that has a turbo, that is oil cooled. The BRZ engine was built for 0W20, see no reason why a good 0W20 oil would degrade just because its hot out.

Doubt you are spending all day up at 7K rpm anyway. With normal driving under 4K the engine is barely getting a workout.
