Tactrix wont let you write unless you make up a dummy def file for writing so no chance of harming ecu.

If you use save as function and save as a BIN file (it will thow another warning about lost data dont worry just click yes to save.

Then you will be able to read that bin file with romraider if its a K00G rom

If hour friend wants to write/tune his car i can convert the romraider def to a ecuflash def if you want
Thanks a lot.

It leads to another question that I'm curious about. When I started out tuning, I was adviced never to modify and reflash my stock rom. Not that I ever wanted to do that, but were there a specific reason for that advice?

E.g. if I already had A01G on my car, would there be a difference between an A01G pulled directly off a car and e.g. an OFT A01G in the areas not defined?
