I have a metal crate that did not fit. So, I went out and got a plastic one that does fit (barely) through the passenger door into the back with seats folded down. I am not certain of the size that I bought. Will check when I get home tonight.

It is 18" high and 26" long. Got it at PetSmart - sold under the brand Great Choice. It is a bit tight for my two pugs to fit in together, but works for short trips to the kennel. If they are coming on longer trips they go in the Expedition. Anyway, it was the largest crate I could find that would fit in the BRZ.
