Congrats on the new car. As long as you don't need a bigger car, it is a good choice. As someone who went through the same naysayers, I am happy I went with the FR-S.

However, I don't know your situation. Professionalism is relative. You only need a professional* looking car if your brand relies on it (e.g. Real Estate Agent). Keep it clean and that's all people really care about. As a programmer, my car does not make much of a difference in my career.

Enjoy the new ride, welcome to the world of manual cars. It's cheaper to rent a bigger car for a day than it is to get a practical car that you dread a visit to the gas station instead of a car where you just burn fuel for fun.
