It is not a presidential debate. The oil level after an oil change should be on the F mark. This is how it is done for decades in Subaru's and people saying that it doesn't matter either they don't have a Subaru or they never paid attention how is done or they don't do it correctly. The oil capacity (without filter) is 5.5 qt and if you are using 1 qt. bottles, then you have to use 6 bottles and have a surplus. I've never seen a serious mechanic filling with 5 qt. and saying it is OK for the oil level to be between the two dots. I don't think it is stupidity to insist on correct information and avoid misconceptions.
