I only occasionally cop shit about the car and it's power levels, which I don't really care about as I'm not bothered by it and it's just light friendly banter.

For instance, I was at a barbeque about a year ago and a friend was having a light jab about the power and torque of the 86 compared to his Golf R.

I basically replied that although I like his car (And I've driven it a few times) it doesn't appeal to me as much as the 86 as it doesn't give the feeling of involvement that a simple RWD lightweight manual car does. His car is a lot of fun, but in most aspects, it's the computers doing the work. I also threw in that I thought the MKVI Golf R's gear stick had the wide loose throws of a rental van.

Overhearing this another friend of both of ours who is very much interested in cars (Owns two RX4's) interjected and backed me up saying that although he'd rather have the Golf R for a long road trip on the highway, he'd prefer the 86 for spirited twisty roads.
