There is a function on the left stalk that you just pull back on called "flash to pass". Maybe try that first.
If you are trying to pass on the right lane then of course the car in front would fuck with you but what's the big deal. The BRZ is just a cheap sports car nothing special really at least around here. Does your car look rice?
