There are assholes everywhere. My community does not have wide residential streets and with people parking on the side of the street, only one direction can pass at a time. Often, impatient drivers tend to 'force' their way through so you have to stop even if you have the right-of-way. If a car is parked on the same side of the road that you are on and another car is coming from the opposite direction, they have the right-of-way. Unfortunately, most do not see it that way. Personally, I will continue forward slowly and force others to back up if the parked car is on their side of the road.

Sometimes, the best defensive driving is offensive driving but not every time.
