Set expectations extremely low, the Z4 at it's peak moved 20k units in 2003, I supremely doubt the Z5/Supra ever tops that given recent auto sales trends.

I'd be very impressed if they managed to move even 1k/month combined at peak. That would be outselling the 911.

That plus the movie is pretty much all the hype. Undeniably it's an excellent machine put together very well, I bet it'd be a blast to drive one that's well setup, if they never got rice taxed to hell I bet they'd still be worth money because it's so capable on it's own merits (like clean FD RX-7's, C5 'Vette, 996 911). But I'll take a Porsche at the same price point any day. That will go for the new one as well.
