I really like the 720 Form GTF-1, but unfortunately they don't clear the Brembos on the Performance Package. I found this out after having CARID send a 17X8 and a 17x9 both with a +35 offset.
Today they got a set of the Konig Ultraforms in at Americas Tire for me to test fit. They easily cleared the Brembos on the Performance Package, and appeared that they would work with a 245/40R17. I really loved the way they fit (being careful to not use the word figment for the English Majors on the Forum
). They were tight to the spring which keeps the scrub radius close to that of the factory setup. Unfortunately, they had a 73.1 hub center and would require hubcentric rings. Also, I didn't love the color. While it is a dark grey with small matelic flake, I would prefer any black (gloss, flat, or anything in between).
That being said, I wonder if we could generate enough interest to put together a group buy for the Konig Ultraforms in Black with a 56.1mm hub center? This could satisfy a lot of the Performance Package owners who thought they were getting black wheels, only to have Subaru switch the color to gray at the last minute. I understand that Konig will do a custom run if we put together an order for 60 wheels. Let me know what you think!
