The only negative I have ever heard is in extremely cold conditions with thicker MTF the carbon synchros can feel a bit notchy until they warm up, but normally they have a better shift feel than brass and can be used for daily driving and performance use.
Same thing on allot of 86s, shifting when the transmission fluid is cold is notchy, so wont make a difference in my mind.
