So, wally, I see that your car is new to you ....... but is it new.

If it's new, I'd suggest you take it back to the dealer ...... because, the brakes shouldn't be squealing.

If it's not a new car ....... how many miles on the car .. ??

If it has several thousands of miles on it ...... it could be the pads are worn down to the metal wear indicators (making a metallic squealing sound when applied).

Also, a brake inspection may be in order, there could be a lose caliper or a rock stuck between the pad and rotor.

If the pads are wore out ....... for normal driving, I would suggest they be replaced with the OEM pads.
