For me, it's not heat-related. I can make it happen in the first corner on a cold day and it is consistent throughout a 30 minute session. It's purely load related. My guess is that it reduces the assist to prevent overheating once it detects a heavy load.
I'd rather set it to reduced-assist full time when on the track so it is consistent. I wonder if it is a closed system or if it is controlled by the ECU. If the latter, maybe Beastronix could add a reduced-assist mode to the 86nanny?
[EDIT: I've contacted Beastronix if they can do this. Told them I'd pay $200 for such a feature; easily. Let them know if you are also interested and how much it is worth to you. Even if it isn't ECU controlled, I bet they can figure out how to put a manual switch directly to the assist controller! Fingers crossed...]
