The big problem is cultural as I assume you live in the US. You would have to remove the dashcam every time because of theft issues (unless you have your car tinted dark as night). I just had a friend got her dashcam stolen and a broken passenger side window from a similar setup. Just be careful unless you can make the dashcam really stealthy.
