Been sitting on Hotchkis springs for about 8 months now. My drive to work sucks and it's filled with speed bumps and pot holes but I still have no issues with the ride quality. Driving the car the day after they were installed I felt no noticeable difference from stock.
There's no reason to spend a grand on stancing if you don't need to. That's like saying "I spent $800 on an adjustable wing because it looks cool and #downforcebro". Lowering springs are the best, cheapest option if you're only looking to drop a bit. Any more than an inch and you're pretty much sacrificing function for style.
Edit: After reading your latest reply, I agree with you about the front struts. Feels like I'm in a bouncy house sometimes coming off a speed bump.
