In every other situation the warranty is intact and the determination of whether it can be used to cover repairs is at the discretion of the dealer/manufacturer. Obviously consumers have a say in it but it's a long legal process should it go down that route...
Nothing is void until you destroy the car. Furthermore, the only way the warranty clause can be voided is if both parties agree to void it in writing.
