The issue I have been having is that there is an obnoxious amount of slack in the shifter, while in third and fourth there is about 4 inches of play. It is not so bad in 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th but it is still pretty loose. There is also some notchiness specifically in 5th and 6th.
I am coming from driving a wrangler for the past two years so I know some of it can be attributed to me just getting the feel for a car with a shorter shift pattern, but it does seem a bit excessive.
I was just wondering if anyone could share their experience on the level of wear they had at around that mileage and if it's normal. I plan on doing the Perrin bushing install, but I am worried that there may be a deeper problem.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

not normal. needs to be fixed. play should be about 1/2inch side to side.
