The reason people are making the comments they are is because of the way you worded your original post. At no point were you "locked in the car" as you put it. In fact, you even said, and I quote:

There is nothing freaky being locked in the car because you aren't locked in. But you made it sound as if you had no idea how else to exit the vehicle, and started freaking out a bit. This is nothing other than hilarious to everyone else because, well, you weren't locked in, and it would show an immense lack of observational skills on your part to not have noticed how the door locks work after even one hour of ownership.
Nothing wrong with the question you asked, but I suppose you just worded it poorly, and in such a way as to make yourself look rather silly.
