Engine
Cylinder block and head and all
internal parts, timing gears and
gaskets, timing chain/belt and cover,
flywheel, valve covers, oil pan, oil
pump, engine mounts, turbocharger
housing and all internal parts, super
charger housing and all internal parts,
engine control computer, water pump,
fuel pump, seals and gaskets.
The cam sensor is also covered under warranty

I just read the entire Warranty booklet for 2014 for Subaru. It blanket covers all models of Subaru including BRZ.
Unless Subaru has a completely different warranty coverage, it does NOT cover electronics under powertrain.
The ECU is already covered by the mandated Federal warranty.
I'm just going off what you described... P0018 is a sensor issue and if, during the process of repair, you replace the ECU as part of the repair procedure, then the replacement part is replaced as covered by normal warranty and not powertrain. P0018 is NOT a "ECU defective" issue so that portion of the emissions warranty does not come into play.
