Why is there such a price range for premium ? Does a one dollar difference per
gallon mean the quality of premium at one station is poorer and therefore potentially problematic for your vehicle ?
The Gettys, Shells, and Mobiles all price their premium a good dollar or more above the smaller companies.

Companies like Shell and Chevron are top tier gas stations which means that in addition to their various marketing products (Chevron with techron/Shell nitrogen enriched gasoline) they add slightly more cleaning detergents to their gasoline so it is supposedly slightly better than some of the no-name, small gas stations like Thrifty and USA gasoline.
***All that should matter is the octane, and as long as you're putting in premium (91 in CA/93+ elsewhere) it should be fine. (Some exceptions can apply here)
Anecdotally, I have had to use gas from these lesser stations (like USA gasoline) on two occasions in my life (one time I also had to use 87 in a car designed for premium because it was all the station had and I was in the middle of nowhere) and my car ran like crap...sluggish, weird idle, no throttle response....
