La Trappe is a beer from the Netherlands

. Although very close to the Belgian border.
If you want to try something beter, Belgium can offer you 6 trappist of the 11 in the world (we used to have 7 of the 9).

bottom one are the Belgian one, the top one's are the rest of the world, including one pending-for-official Trappist.
From left to right, the Belgian one's.
- Chimay (red, blue, white, La Chimay Dorée, Spéciale Cent Cinquante)
- Orval
- Rochefort (Rochefort 6, Rochefort 8 (Spéciale), Rochefort 10 )
- Westmalle (dubbel, trippel, extra)
- Westvleteren (Blond, Acht, Twaalf)
- Achel (8 Blond/bruin, Extra blond/bruin)
And yes, I've tried them all.
The other one's are:
- Gregorius (Austria)
- La Trappe (NL)
- Zundert (NL)
- Spencer (US)
- Tre Fontane (IT)
- Mont des Cats (FR , but not a "real" trappist, because it's being brewed in Chimay (BE))
Oh and there around 1400 belgian beers, not including all the local micro-breweries. With those included the total number goes above 2000 different beers.
Not bad for a country that's the size of a popcorn, gets called a hellhole and has 5(!) governments (the Flemisch, the french, the german, the brussels and a global one).
That concludes the only thing I can be proud about of my country:
The Belgian beers
