I installed mine maybe a month ago. I didn't check to see if the bulbs were easily changed out, but iirc the light 'housing' is pretty solid. I don't remember seeing screws or anything to take off the backing; just the 3 mounting holes for the supplied screws. Mine are white and match my headlights.
