Not sure you actually remember Zeta Gundam, but Zeta Gundam robot was cool & all... but plot of Zeta and ending was pretty horrible. It's worse as Wing & Turn A Gundam. There were only few Gundam series actually had a good plot, art, song & ending.
But of course, I'm Macross fan & not Gundam fan, so that might be part of it.

Martian Sucessor Nadesico I keep forgetting to see that one...one day.
Voices of a Distant Star I really do like, HUGE Makoto Shinkai fan.
Gurren Lagaan was eh... not really my thing, Gunbuster and Diebuster are in the same vein but way better to me.
The others, not interested in.
One I forgot that could be classified as mecha is TRAVA Fist Planet, the technical sequel to Redline even though it came out WAY before. Bought the hard to get and expensive DVD, so I DO like it... LOL. Might as well loosely throw in Redline while we are at it...as it is one of my favorite anime anything, EVER.... |
Eva movies were good. Sadly not sure the director gonna actually make another one (forgot his name)... from the news I saw in Japanese show.
As for Gurren Lagaan, like I said I didn't like it, but A LOT of ppl liked that series. I felt that series wasn't that exciting or funny. only thing I liked was VA they used. There were a lot of good VA that I liked, so I enjoy listening... but that was pretty much it.
