So Toyota contacted me today. My car is not repairable. They are going to just replace the entire engine and they gave me a new car with some pretty good perks. According to them, this issue is being brought up from multiple customers and a fix is on the way. Wish I had more info but it looks like it is just a major defect. I assume they mean it's too much effort to replace it piecewise and pay mechanic labor than it would be to just send you a new engine from the plant. Do you mean the loaner is new/cooler or are they giving you a new FR-S with factory options on their dime?
By fix on the way, I assume at the production level as you said it wasn't repairable.
