Hahaha his criticism of the analog speedometer is spot on. It is absolutely useless and people have been complaining about it since 2012. Luckily the digital speedometer and tach are perfect so you never need to use the analog one, but Toyota/Subaru should have improved on it in the refresh (or gotten rid of it and used that space for something actually useful.)

He definitely "gets" the car though. There was a recent Jalopnik review of the 2017 86 where the reviewer also loved it and seemed to understand the car.
