Can confirm that street racing on 69mm with no intercooler works fine. I wouldn't track it though, and use alcohol injection on super warm days.
Cooking your engine compartment isn't so much the issue. Hot charge air is a different story though.
So far I've been okay running the 69mm for hard sprints up to 88F ambient, but that's with a perrin intake, and water-isopropanol on anything above 84 ambient.
