imo, not much you can do about it, nobody should have pretended that even a cheap sports car is terribly economical to drive, especially if you measure your economy in smiles/mile.

Yeah, Canadians and Europeans have it pretty bad, but then again, regular gas is also expensive, so it comes back to the actual difference between regular and premium.
To me, the twins can be pretty fuel efficient. I drive mine with fuel efficiency in mind up until I get to a corner.
