One of the glass fog light lenses on my 944 that I used to have about 10 years ago cracked after a huge rock was kicked up by an 18-wheeler I was following. I watched it bounce, bounce...and then heard a sickening "ting" sound. Got home to see the glass lens cracked right the way through.

Based on how awful my oem plastic lenses looked after 25k miles, I'll take my chances.
I generally prefer glass lenses as they are much clearer, don't pit as fast, and can usually be replaced. For $35/side, I'll just buy another housing and swap it out and enjoy being able to run higher wattage.
