Not sure if this is the right place for this, but going for it anyways, as I was thinking about it today, and here this post is.
What kind of effects do vented hoods have on the aerodynamics and heat management aspects of the car? I already know the FRS in specific has a giant opening in the front bumper that is pretty uncommon, and probably does not lend itself well to air velocity in the engine bay, but my question largely lays in this, does having a hood with a vent that aims toward the sides (2013-2016 Scion FR-S Subaru BRZ Carbon Creations 86-R Hood on your website) or the windshield (envision like a corvettes hood) actually offer any form of aerodynamic advantage by allowing air to flow through/over the engine?

anyone got some threads on this topic I can stare at awhile?
