Let's hit up a boba shop and hard park our twins.

Am I doing it right? I should probably experience this at some point in my life.

But seriously that tea menu at Tea Era looks insane.

There are a combination of reasons usually. Some cheap places use flavor powder and/or powdered milk, which makes the tea taste kinda chalky and bland. Some put too much sugar and flavor syrup in so you lose all taste of the tea. Etc.

For the actual boba some places let the boba get kind of stale or not thoroughly cooked, or overly cooked. So boba could be way too soft, "tough"/too chewy, etc., or just flavorless. Usually good boba is made with honey (but not too much).

There are some really good places. I prefer Tea Era in Mountain View as one of my top places. Tpumps in sf/San Mateo has really good boba (probably one of the best places for boba itself) but the tea itself there hasn't been as good lately.
