It's like some of those high-end audio stuff they sell at Bay Bloor Radio these days. They look marvelous on the outside like long ago until the unit gets taken apart just to show the build is all fucking bullshit.
Those new Hyundai Genesis luxury cars have atrocious panel gaps too from what I saw at the autoshow.
They know vintage quality things are falling apart with age, and that the new things are made like crap, pick your poison or go custom.

I remember wayyyy back in the day when I was like 18 and was into car audio. I had one 10" woofer that could rattle the roof on dunkin donuts without rattling my car. People would be amazed. I didn't do anything special, just did it right. Thick gauge wiring, capacitor for stability, crisp clear tweeters inside, appropriate amperage, a quality head unit, dynomat. It wasn't rocket science just a little attention to detail. Meanwhile dudes be having 2 giant ass speakers that sound like shit cause they don't hit right, everything rattles, and their electrical system is on overload.
