I run the 57Xtreme 18x8.5 and have 235/40s. The wheels actually have a bit of a lip on them so the tire doesn't fit completely flush with the edge of the wheel. I would probably need to go up to a 245. Since you are running a 9 inch wheel, a 245 would work, but a 255 would most likely look the best. You would definitely need to change out for coilovers in the front though so you don't rub.

As for tires that do well in the rain, I run MPSS here in the Pacific Northwest where it is constantly raining. MPSS have a high resistance to hydroplane and have always given me complete confidence, wet or dry.
