Some guy in our city was in the news a couple years ago because he got caught on surveillance camera in the elevator kicking his guard dog. Maybe pissed on the rug. It wasn't a roundhouse but more like a 13 yard pass. He ended up doing community service iirc.
A few months ago, this guy in the elevator picked up his dog and kissed it on what I thought was the mouth.
I'd say just keep it behind closed doors.
