If you are mechanically inclined to do so it is, but completely voids your warranty of the rotrex unit. What I would do first since it's super simple is order new pulleys with new bearings from kraftwerks. Replace the pulleys that are on the adapter plate. See if the noise goes away. If it does, you just solved your problem! If it doesn't... well looks like you can either open up your rotrex or have to send to Denmark.
