So yesterday I saw build up on the front of the timing cover and assumed that's where the leak and smell were coming from. Turns out my rear cam plate was leaking and definitely causing some smells. I cleaned everything up and will continue to monitor everything to see if there are any other leaks, but in the mean time I have a Raceseng cam plate on it's way to me!

Thanks again for the help. I'm in love with this car. I feel like you can almost judge a car based off the forums dedicated to them, and with that said, the 86 seems to be a big winner.
