Any experience with Tein Street Basis Z?

I was wondering if anyone had experience with the new Street Basis Z and if possible could compare the ride quality to the popular Flex Z. I understand there are some significant differences between them (Flex Z has camber plates, fully threaded shock body, adjustable damping, 6K/6K spring rate vs. 5K/6K, made in Japan vs China, and $) but I'm primarily concerned with ride quality when lowered ~1 inch. Is it even possible to have quality dampers at $500? Would the partially threaded shock body on the Basis Z compromise bump travel or spring preload noticeably, if at all, at this height? Thanks for your input!
