^This. 91 octane is bad enough. Don't do 87. This is not a heavy ass minivan with a big 3.5L V6 that guzzles gas. It's a small lightweight car with a small 4 cylinder engine. It's really not that expensive to use 93 octane. And if you use 87 octane on a regular basis you may end up with costly repairs that will greatly exceed whatever little money you saved at the pump.
Also I'm pretty sure your Honda Odyssey does not take premium fuel so using 87 octane for that is correct.
Also this is your car so wouldn't you be filling up the tank anyway? How would he know what gas you are using?
