The Conti will probably do a better job with any amount of snow trace on the ground than the Michelin.
I had Dunlop SP Sport 01 A/S on the Golf for 3 winters until I bought winter tires and it got me around town in the snow just fine.
The Pilot Sport A/S 3 on the BRZ is absolutely useless even with less than half a centimeter of snow on the ground. I only drive it now on wet snow if I really have to. Nothing beats bombing down the 407 (one of the most boring hwys in Ontario) in heavy snow on the fast lane with Latitude X-Ice and full time AWD.
