Kids today think that bacon comes off the hog that way.
Now, REAL bacon, back on the farm, in the winter, was laid out on planks on a sawhorse in the barn and hand rubbed with salt and brown sugar ...... then aged for a spell.
No, the cats and dogs didn't eat too much of it ..... too salty and sweet for them ...... you would just cut off the corners where they nibbled .....
