I bought the extended that covers "bumper to bumper" for 7 years for $1000. That same dealer now has a 200k/20 yr powertrain warranty on all new/certified for nothing extra.
I've thought about trading in for a Toyota 86 to have that piece of mind. I'd lose some $ in trading in but 20 years is nuts. I only drive about 3-4k a year so I'd be getting the full benefit of that 200k/20 yr.
If I didn't have the warranty I have now and that 200k/20 yr wasn't available to me, I'd do like others have said and just put away $50-100 a month for future issues.
