You can get away without the clutch, especially if you stick to the 72.5mm pulley. I'm sort of in the same position as you... trying to decide if I want to do fuel and clutch and more FI or just go back to stock and get something faster. I did this build with pretty much the same goal, but now I want more (as is human nature, I suppose)
