The question is whether it blew when you were trying to test.

Can you get a pic of the back of the circuit board without your thumb? And can you get some numbers off the other components on the board?

I'm thinking we don't need to measure anything here, it appears to be a protected circuit taking 10-14v in (I think that's a cap, then a regulator, then ... not sure, some resistors but I can't see what they're doing); we just need to spec the right voltage, which we should be able to determine knowing the other parts. I may be wrong, as I never quite understood diodes and current (beyond making sure you don't draw more than they can handle, but this circuit is dedicated to the LEDs)
