Also, if you are shifting from 6th @ 2000rpm to 4th, the rev difference is probably 1000rpm at most. Hardly a big deal for the syncros and definately not really needing a blip let alone a ducking double clutch. Some people make me wonder.
As to the original problem. The gearbox is very tight when new and it very sensitive to the alignment of the linkage and the box. I have had mine back from the dealers and each time they touch the linkage or the gearbox it comes back with different resisting gears. Currently 1st and 2nd refuse occasionally.
It will probably sort itself out after 10k miles, if it doesn't try getting a mechanic to realign the linkage or fit a shift kit.

Funny, I don't drive around doing 2,000 rpms at 40 and have never had an issue with shifting to any gear nor ever had a single repair on a tranny.
