The dealer by me has a 20 year/200K warranty on all the cars they sell new/used/certified which I missed out on by several months buying mine before they implemented that.
If they had a 2016 with super low miles like my 15' at 8k, I might do it to gain that warranty and if the 17' was a decent enough price just do that bumper swap. Maybe even
make that part of the deal. If enough people show their disgust in the change, maybe they will think about changing something just to change it for the new model year.
If it isn't broke, don't fix it.

Their marketing people spend a pile of time and money on research and know what the bulk of the public is after even if we don't agree with it.
They have always changed and always will it is the nature of the beast.
To the best of my knowledge there is only one manufacturer that never changed their body style for their vehicles through most of their entire existence. Where are they now?
