In that case, its a gimmick 99% of the time. A real racecar doesn't have a lot of suspension articulation but their suspensions are designed/optimized for this from the get go. They also have other things helping them that road cars lack like serious aero packages pushing them down and very wide tires. A street going sports car needs to have a certain amount of suspension flex and there is a point that is reached where you have lowered it too much and you've actually made its handling less capable even though you've lowered the COG. Not to mention you took that wonderfully engineered suspension geometry and moved it out of its optimal area of operation when you lowered it and put those adjustable arms on. That is, if you put adjustable arms on to begin with rather than going without and ruining it even more.
