I own a rare collector car very much in the spirit of the FRS of which only 8000 were ever made and 40 years later you can still buy one in top condition for $25-30,000. So, to be "rare" your have to be "Really Rare" before it counts.
If you want to know where the FRS is going to be value-wise in 50 years or so, just look at the Datsun 240Z since it would be the most comparable to the FRS niche.
