Right here - the dealer installed an older STI lip on a 2017 BRZ by mistake, so obviously the earlier version fits on the 2017.

Even if the mounting holes are in different places, all you have to do is attach the lip ends at the fender (uses the same mounting holes there), support the lip, and just match-drill all the other holes.

So what that thread above tells me that the width between the little wings at the end of the older STI lip and the 2017 one are the same, which means that the bumper cover width is also the same. Since the bottom of the bumper is flat, as is the top of the lip, it looks like the 2017 lip will fit 2016 and earlier model cars.
